An entire house in Naramachi, the old quarter at the centre of Nara, a short walk from Nara Park and the temples around it. The building is finished in exposed concrete and furnished sparely, with contemporary pieces and antique tea ware set out through the rooms and changed from time to time; the owner collects both. Two bedrooms, a Japanese room with three futons and a western room with two single beds, plus a sofa bed in the living room, and one and a half bathrooms. Five guests. The kitchen is equipped for cooking rather than reheating, with a coffee machine and a full set of tea and tableware. Floor heating runs under the ground floor and three air conditioners cover the rest, with electric heaters added in winter. The garden is private and enclosed. Check-in is self check-in, and the nearest station is JR Kyobate.
