Leases are fixed-term (定期借家) with a one-month minimum, and rents run from ¥320,000 to ¥740,000 a month. The team that runs these houses day to day handles the lease and the months after it.
Each of the four is a detached wooden house or machiya, and you take the whole building rather than a floor of it. The kitchen, bathroom, washer and dryer, wifi, air conditioning and heating are in place before you arrive, and entry is by self check-in. Bedrooms hold four to eight people, and one home sets aside a workspace for anyone working from the house.
All four are in Kyoto City: two in Kamigyo-ku, one in Higashiyama-ku and one in Nakagyo-ku. Three have a private hot tub, one takes pets, and one has free parking on the premises. Photographs, the room and bathroom count and the full amenity list sit on each home’s page.
Fixed-term leases
The lease is a 定期借家, the fixed-term form used in Japan. It runs for the term written into the contract and ends on the date the contract states, with no automatic renewal. Staying on means agreeing a new term, and one month is the shortest term we take.
The deposit (敷金) is one month’s rent on all four homes listed now, and each home’s page states it. Rents are ¥320,000, ¥400,000, ¥550,000 and ¥740,000 a month, and each page shows which is which. Prices shown are indicative and may change; the final amount is agreed between both parties.
Rented from the operator
You rent directly from the operator. moogo is the property line of 081株式会社, which has operated homes in Kyoto since 2019. The brokerage license is Kyoto Governor (1) No. 15131, granted on April 23, 2026 and valid to April 23, 2031.
Each of the four is also a notified lodging under 住宅宿泊事業法, and runs as a nightly guesthouse as well as a monthly rental. The people who answer while you live there are the ones who clean and maintain the house between guests.
